August 11, 2019
Dear Friends of St Andrew’s,
These are critical but exciting days at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. An important step in our transitional process will happen on Sunday, September 15, 2019 and your presence is needed. During the transitional time, commonly known as the Interim Period, each of us are asked to engage in a discernment process of listening to God and to one other to help us clarify what God wants us to be and do in the next phase of our congregation’s life.
Following worship on September 15, we ask that you attend our luncheon in Kirk Hall provided by the Congregational Life Committee. The luncheon will lead to a Town Hall meeting in which we remember and celebrate components of the St. Andrew’s history (distant and recent past) that will in turn assist us in clarify our identity (present and future). We ask that you bring a picture, worship bulletin, or a personal memory to describe your past connection(s) at St. Andrew’s that you might be willing to talk about with one another. This item should represent a positive aspect of your history at our church. Telling these stories allows us to celebrate our continued connections within this congregation and will serve as building blocks for future conversations about the significance we share with each other and within this community.
This is the first step in a process that will take involvement from each of us. Every member holds a piece of the puzzle in helping us clarify our strategic plans moving forward during the transitional process. I know that we can count on
your attendance and participation on September 15. Call me with questions or to register. I look forward to seeing you and hearing your stories in how you came to be involved in our church.
Peace and Blessings
