Practising the Path – Covenant Prayer

March 27, 2016
Passage: Luke 24: 1-12

"What we need is a resolution to know the whole will of God and a resolution to do it." ~ John Wesley

God makes covenants, like marriage. These sacred, all encompassing agreements speak of lives that are coming together, united in purpose.

Covenant prayer is making our lives about the One who grounds our being. It is a commitment to keep getting up and taking God’s hand, though we sometimes stumble. It is a devotion to know God's will and ways better through practising prayer and reflection at fixed times and places.

This Easter tide, set a time and place for a regular tryst with God. Use those times to write down what is happening within and around you. As the covenant you've made is lived out, discover the joy of seeing that the One we search for has been with us all along.
